Buy Fn Scar - The FN SCAR 16S Carbine Deserves Its High Price: My AR is one of the favorite rifles in my collection, so I'm reserving judgment on the FN Scar 16S until I've had a chance to shoot it. It is definitely more expensive, but I have found a reason that special forces in the US military prefer to use it.
For starters, some of the best things about the FN SCAR 16S are the larger features. The fire selector and magazine release are large enough for me to use gloves and I recommend wearing them as the scar heats up quickly.

The good news is that even after 100 rounds of testing, I had no misfires, jams, or magazine feeding issues, no matter how hot it got. I also like that the bottle is big enough to fit in gloves because they knew how hot it would get when they designed it.

All of these features are made to be sharp, but they don't bother me when taking pictures. I will say that charging can curse your finger with the optic if you're not careful, but it's not a problem for me after the first one.
I fell in love with the test shooting. I have a 2" inside range at 100 yards and it doesn't change much at 300 or 400 yards even though I have to use an optic for those targets. That's when I realized the distance to the charger.
One thing that stands out is that the scar is easy to disassemble and clean, I did it in just a few minutes. I can also adjust the collapsible hoof and cheek rest perfectly comfortably in my female position and they managed to adjust all the time.
The .223 cartridge had no recoil that I noticed, mainly due to the muzzle brake on the scar. Between that and the fact that the rifle is just over 7 pounds, it's easy to maneuver. The 4 Picatinny rails allow me to insert the holographic sight and catch it with no problem.

I like the gas piston ignition system because it reduces gas emissions while also reducing carbon build-up so I don't have to clean as much. It works with my AR mags, but avoid using Gen II PMags because they will ruin your scars.
One thing I don't like about the SCAR is the price because $3,300 is very high. While you can find similar guns for less, they will not have the quality or durability that this gun offers. FN SCAR: Yes, worth it...
After 100 rounds, it's no wonder the military prefers the FN Scar 16S tactical carbine. I personally like it as much or more than my AR, from handling to accuracy and recoil management, so if you have the money, I can't recommend the Scar enough.
