Army Mark 19 - The MK19 40mm machine gun is an air-cooled, deformed metal link belt, fully automatic, recoil-operated, short-range weapon with limited ammunition. It can fire a variety of 40mm grenades. The M430 HEDP 40mm grenade can penetrate armor up to 2 inches thick and produce fragments that will kill personnel within five meters and injure personnel within 15 meters of impact.
Associated components: MK64 cradle mount, MOD 5; M3 tripod mount; and AN/TVS-5 night vision sight. The MK19 is also mounted on the LVTP7A1 AAV model's top rifle weapon station and vehicle ring mounts.

The MK19 grenade launcher supports units in both offensive and defensive roles. It provides a high level of accurate and continuous firepower against enemy personnel and light armored vehicles. The MK19 can be mounted on a tripod or multiple vehicle platforms. It is the primary suppression weapon for combat support and combat service support units. This weapon can protect engine movements, assembly areas and supply trains in bivouac.

The MK19 grenade launcher can defend against rotary-wing aircraft, destroy lightly armored vehicles, fire on suspected enemy positions, and deliver high-volume fire in the area of impact and covertly from concealed positions. The system enhances the ability of U.S. forces to defeat enemy armored, mechanized, and infantry forces using high-explosive, dual-purpose munitions.
